Welcome to Managing Myself

How did it all begin...?

I'm Laura, a Chartered Accountant (but please don't let that put you off), with over 20 years' experience of management and leadership in the corporate world. I've had a brilliantly successful career, running finance teams, raising millions in funding, and contributing strategically on several boards. I was recognised as one of the Top 50 Female Leaders in the UK Life Science Sector for two years consecutively.

But let's be honest - it's not all been plain sailing.

My biggest struggle has been finding a way to overcome the daily overwhelm of a successful corporate career while doing my best to raise my two wonderful children with the love and attention they deserve. Can you relate?

I've worked hard over the years to find a way to manage myself: to be more purposeful and productive, to create the margin I need for a successful work-life balance and to overcome my limiting beliefs to excel in my career (hence the company name!). 


I have invested in training programmes, read countless books, binged on podcasts and worked with several mentors and coaches to uncover the best tactics and strategies to improve my impact at work and at home. And I continue to work on myself in this way, every day. 


One of the most valuable lessons I've learned is that I alone have the power to improve my life. We must each take responsibility for managing ourselves, to carve an intentional path to our best future. 


My mission is to inspire you and give you the tools and strategies you need to take back control of your days. 


You'll learn some simple steps to create more clarity and focus in your life, be more productive and more energised, and find time to share those special everyday moments of magic with your family.


I believe in you. I believe in your capacity to manage yourself and develop new skills.
